These terms apply when you use the MetalRates website and API (the “Service”), run by Devstrom Solutions, Lahore, Pakistan (“we”, “us”). By requesting an API key or using the API, you agree to them. If you use the Service for a company, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.
1. Your API key
- Each key belongs to one account. Keep it secret: do not put it in public code, browser JavaScript or mobile apps where others can read it.
- You are responsible for all requests made with your key. If it leaks, tell us and we will replace it.
- Give us a working email address so we can reach you about your key.
2. Plans and limits
- Each plan has a daily request limit, shown on the pricing page. Requests above the limit are refused until the next day; we do not charge overage automatically.
- We may change the free plan, including its limits and permitted uses, and will tell free users by email before a change takes effect.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, as agreed in your order or invoice. Fees are not refundable for a period already started, unless the law requires otherwise.
- We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days’ notice. You can cancel before the new price applies.
3. How you may use the data
- You may use the data in your own websites, apps and internal systems, and show it to your users.
- You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the raw data as a data feed or competing API, or offer it in bulk downloads, without a written redistribution licence from us. Ask about our enterprise plans.
- You may not try to get around rate limits, share keys between unrelated parties, overload or probe the Service, or use it for anything unlawful.
4. Data accuracy: reference only
Prices and exchange rates are reference figures drawn from third-party market sources. They are refreshed at intervals, not tick by tick, and every response includes an updatedAt time. Retail jewellery prices, bank rates and exchange-house rates differ because sellers add their own margins.
The data is not financial, investment or trading advice. Do not rely on it alone for trading, settlement or other decisions where a delay or error could cause loss. Check prices that matter against an independent source.
5. Availability
We work to keep the Service running, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and no uptime or support level applies unless we agree one in a signed enterprise contract. We may change or retire endpoints; for breaking changes to paid plans we give at least 30 days’ notice where we reasonably can.
6. Suspension and ending
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or revoke a key that breaks these terms, puts the Service at risk or goes unpaid; where possible we warn you first. Sections 3 to 8 continue after these terms end.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the Service or from decisions made using its data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you use only the free plan. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Lahore have jurisdiction, unless the consumer law of your country gives you a right to bring a claim where you live. Please contact us first: most problems are easier to solve by email.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We change the date at the top, and for significant changes we email active API users at least 30 days before they apply. Using the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
