About MetalRates
MetalRates is a gold, silver and exchange rates API built and run by Devstrom Solutions, a software company in Lahore, Pakistan.
We started MetalRates to power our own products. SaudiLifeGuide.com needed reliable gold prices per karat in riyals and exchange rates for Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi workers sending money home. The big metals APIs quote USD per ounce, so we built one for the way this region buys gold and sends money.
Today the same API serves every gold, silver and exchange-rate page on SaudiLifeGuide.com. We are opening it to other developers so jewellers, traders, fintech teams and publishers can use the same data without building it themselves.
What we care about
- Honest data. Every response says when it was updated and flags stale values instead of hiding them.
- Regional accuracy. Per-karat and per-gram prices in the currencies people in the Gulf and South Asia actually use.
- Simple integration. One key, one JSON envelope, plain HTTP from any language.
